Research Description:
My research interest involves the host-parasite interactions in the area of parasitology. I study the interaction of different components of the immune system (such as dendritic cells and macrophages) with the parasite Leishmania braziliensis. This parasite causes the severe muco-cutaneous disease know as Leishmaniasis. This disease is endemic in my home country, Perú.
