Dr. Maureen Laroche (PI) on her NoA for Grant CDC-75D30123C17565, entitled “A Rickettsia amblyommatis vaccine to prevent transmission of Rickettsia rickettsii by
brown dog ticks”. During the funding period, Dr. Laroche and Dr. Lucas
Blanton (co-PI) will evaluate the safety and efficacy of R. amblyommatis immunization to protect canines against R. rickettsii disease. They will also determine whether immunization reduces R. rickettsii acquisition by the ticks.
