Recipient of the 2025 Richard M. Taylor Award- Congratulations Dr. Scott C. Weaver

We are very happy to share another recognition for one of UTMB's accomplished faculty leaders from the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (ASTMH). Congratulations, 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝘁𝘁 𝗖. 𝗪𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗿, 𝗣𝗵𝗗, on receiving the Richard M. Taylor Award from the American Committee on Arthropod-Borne Viruses (ACAV).

The award is presented every three years to a highly experienced scientist who has made outstanding contributions to arbovirology. It honors Richard Moreland Taylor, MD, PhD, who made key discoveries critical for the continued investigation of many tick- and mosquito-borne viruses. He was also foundational to the creation and flourishing of ACAV.

Dr. Weaver is a Professor in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology in the UTMB John Sealy School of Medicine, Director of the Institute for Human Infections and Immunity, and Scientific Director of the Galveston National Laboratory. Please join us in congratulating him on this richly deserved honor!
